Album production & release
Confessions II - released on July 3, 2026 - is Madonna's 15th studio album. It comes 7 years after her previous studio release Madame X.
The album is the successor of the 2005 album Confessions On A Dance Floor, both produced by Stuart Price. While Price worked on all tracks, the production team also includes Martin Garrix (Bizarre), Mirwais (Betrayal), Andrew Watt and Cirkut (Danceteria, L.E.S. Girl).
Confessions II is available as a 12-track and a 16-track album. The Deluxe version contains the 16-track CD and an exclusive photo book with the images of the album shoot. The (digital only) ICON Edition contains a 17th track, titled Hot Sauce.
Apart from the 12- and 16-track CD versions and the pink 16-track cassette, there is a large range of limited editions on colourful vinyls.
Album promotion
A first track, showing off a 90s house and dance style and titled I Feel So Free, premiered on iheartradio on April 17, 2026, exactly 7 years after hear previous lead single Medellin.
That same evening, Madonna guest starred on Sabrina Carpenter's set at Coachella, where they performed their new duet from the album Bring Your Love, as well as Vogue and Like A Prayer. Bring Your Love was released as a single on April 30.
On April 25, Madonna and Stuart Price made a surprise appearance at The Abbey in West Hollywood, playing several tracks from the new album. It was the first of a series of club appearances, dubbed Club Confessions. At another one in Paris on June 24, Arca previewed her remix of The Test.
On June 4, Madonna and Stuart Price gave a surprise performance on Times Square, New York, which was broadcast live by Grindr. After playing I Feel So Free and Bring Your Love, they premiered Love Sensation.
The next day, "Confessions II - The Film" premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. Torso directed this art project, that is described as a journey through “a fucked‑up night out that’s remembered not for what happened, but for how it felt.” It's a visual album with six chapters, one for each of the first 6 tracks of the album. While it previews new music, the film is filled with references to Madonna's career: the hand dryer scene from Desperately Seeking Susan, choreographies from the Re-Invention Tour, the Ray Of Light dress, the bananas from the Deeper and Deeper video, ... The film contains many celebrity appearances, including Sabrina Carpenter, Julia Garner, Debi Mazar, Benedict Cumberbatch, Gwendoline Christie, Kate Moss, Honey Dijon, and Madonna's daughter Lola.
On June 13, Martin Garrix premiered the song Bizarre as part of his set at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
On the eve of July 2, many release parties were organized around the world. Madonna made an appearance at the London release party, together with Stuart Price and Lola. She did a live on TikTok earlier that day.
