Madonna's career: 2002
← 2001 | overview | 2003 →
In 2002, Madonna's focus was more on acting than singing. In May, she debuted on London's West End, in the role of Loren in David Williamson's play Up For Grabs. She had the leading role in Swept Away, directed by her husband Guy Ritchie, which premiered in October. And in November, we saw her in a cameo as a fencing instructor in the Bond movie Die Another Day. All three roles were heavily criticized and would wind up to be her last acting efforts. Fortunately, there was one musical highlight: she provided the Bond theme song, also titled Die Another Day.
