Madonna's career: 2003

2003 is dominated by the American Life era. The album is released in April, followed by a promo tour of TV appearances and promo gigs in NYC, Cologne, London and Paris. The most notorious performance is at the VMA in August, where Madonna kisses pop princesses Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. One of the promo photoshoots by Steven Klein leads to the X-STaTIC PRo=CeSS exhibition in NYC. Madonna also launches her first children's books The English Roses and Mr. Peabody's Apples. In November, Madonna releases the EP Remixed & Revisited.
