Single
The midtempo pop and trap ballad Crave was the third album track that was made available on May 10, 2019. It is considered as the official second single after Medellín. The song features American rapper Swae Lee, who also co-wrote it together with Starrah and Madonna.
On October 25, Madonna released 'Crave Remixes Pt. 1' with remixes by Tracy Young, Benny Benassi, and more. These remixes gave the single a boost on the dance charts, earning Madonna her 49th #1 hit on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart. A second remix package followed on November 15, with mixes by Thomas Gold, DJ Lynn Wood, DJ Boris, Mike Cruz, and Joe Gauthreaux & Leanh.
Video
The music video for Crave premiered on May 22 during a live chat session. It was directed by Nuno Xico and filmed in New York City. We see Madame X on a rooftop releasing pigeons, to send messages of her cravings to Swae Lee. Though edited very fast, the video shows beautiful imagery of Madonna and Swae Lee, each separately performing choreographies by Megan Lawson, before finally meeting on that New York rooftop.
Tour
On the Madame X Tour, the Tracy Young remix of Crave was performed as the most uptempo dance part of the final tour segment. On the European tour leg (except for the first Lisbon shows), the track was removed from the setlist, possibly because the dancing caused too much trouble for Madonna's knee injury.
