The last 260 Spitting Image puppets are going on sale at the end of this month. Madonna, George Bush sr., Margaret Thatcher and grey John Major are among the highlights of the auction to be conducted by Sotheby's. It will be the last hurrah for the satirical ITV show that ridiculed the great and the not-so-great from 1984 until 1996. The sale is expected to raise well over £100,000 for creator Roger Law. 13 November - Westlife to keep Madonna from the top ?
Westlife look set to top the album charts this weekend. Early sales figures show they are outselling their nearest rival Madonna by more than two to one. The band's third album, World Of Our Own, looks set to sell almost 150,000 copies by the end of the week. (source: Ananova)

~ Dear Madonnafans, don't tell me some little boysband, soon to be forgotten, will take the top spot instead of our queen? If you haven't already bought the GHV2, do so now! I want this weeks poll to end with 100% for the first option! bARTie

13 November - Madonna and Vanilla Ice on film ?
At the peak of his popularity in the early '90s, Ice was linked to the pop icon Madonna, and old rumors of the existence of a videotape that features Madonna performing a sex act on Ice have recently resurfaced. LAUNCH asked Ice whether or not the tape exists. "Her and I in a sex act? It could, could possibly, absolutely, it could possibly exist," he said. "It's hard to say this - I got my friends, you know." More at Launch.com.

With the release of her second greatest hits set just around the corner, Madonna's 1990 Warner Bros. compilation The Immaculate Collection has been certified by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for U.S. sales of 10 million copies. 11 November - Madonna leaves Sardinia
Yesterday Guy's film crew ended the shooting of 'Love, Sex, Drugs & Money' in Sardinia. In the evening Madonna was seen celebrating at a local pub. She's believed to return to London tomorrow (monday).

11 November - Releases postponed
Dan-O-Rama's compilation of Madonna remixes has been pushed back (once again) by Warner Bros. Records, due to Madonna's new GHV2 & HBO DVD releases. The remix DVD is tentatively scheduled for a July 2002 release. I have no idea what their DVD playlist will be. Some of the edits will have to be altered too (to not include Madonna movie clips, MTV clips etc.). WBR is going through alot of changes right now, so there's a good chance it may not happen at all. (source: Mailing list MLVC)

Though the tour video was scheduled to be released at the same day as the GHV2 it seems it's postponed for the 19th.

10 November - More GHV2 scans! *Exclusive!*
GHV2 Today I got my copy of the GHV2. It has a different sticker on the front cover then the one we've seen before. Notice that in her eye it reads 'GHV2'. Seems like the scans I provided a few days ago were lacking a few pages. I scanned the extra pages, including lots of small pictures and one more text page. Also included are the front and back cover and the disc itself. Click here (it's indeed picture-heavy, so allow the images to load)

08 November - The Validator returns!
And another long publicity nightmare came to an end this week when PR wiz Liz Rosenberg resolved her differences with Madonna and went back to work as the singer's spokeswoman. You may recall that Rosenberg ended her 20-year association with Madonna in September. Rosenberg said, at the time, that Sept. 11 had forced her to rethink her professional ties to Mama Madge. "I had never before imagined it ending," Rosenberg said six weeks ago. "But then the real world came to an end." Well, it's all over now that Madonna needs PR help. Two juicy biographies — which Madonna didn't want to see written — have just been published: "Madonna," by Andrew Morton, and "Goddess," by Barbara Victor. "I'm in a less emotional place now," says Rosenberg. "I came to the conclusion that there was too much history between us. I love the girl. What can I say?" (source: NY Daily News)

08 November - Madge goes hunting
Madonna and Guy Ritchie held their first ever shoot at Ashcombe House, their new home, on Saturday, it has been revealed. According to eagle-eyed spies, also among the tweed-clad figures seen scuttling about on the day was Marco Pierre White. The restaurateur later said that he had enjoyed 'an excellent day's shooting'. Ashcombe's 1,134-acre estate has a reputation for good sport, and this is known to have played a large part in its attraction for Ritchie. A number of the director's pals, including Vinnie Jones, are also fond of the whiff of cordite. (source: PeopleNews)

06 November - Madonna makes Guy change face
Madonna has reportedly forced husband Guy Ritchie to reshoot parts of his new movie because she did not like the way she looked in it. The 43-year-old singer is said to have complained she looked like the 'Queen Mother of Pop' in his film Love, Sex and Money. The mother of two stars as a posh trollop stranded on a deserted beach with a sex-mad fisherman, but said she looks old and frumpy in the initial footage, according to the Daily Star. Apparently the singer managed to sneak a peek at the film - despite her husband's wishes. "My God, I look like a senior citizen. I can't believe Guy is doing this to me, I look awful," she told a friend. An insider said Madonna did not want to look bad next to her co-star Jennifer Aniston, from Friends. Ritchie has now promised to film the scenes all over again with a new filter lens and flattering lights. However, he is said to have told a friend that Madonna is still perfect in his eyes - "wrinkles and all". (source: Sky.com)

06 November - More security measures
Madonna has reportedly spent £10,000 having five large trees planted at her London home. The star is thought to have ordered the trees to prevent neighbours from looking into the garden. She is set to move into the £6 million house near Oxford Street later this month. Madonna plans to have a horizontal trellis carrying climbing plants as a covered walkway. She has also installed a steam room in the five-storey Georgian home, according to the Sun. (source: Ananova)

05 November - GHV2 promo sites

On the site there's also a whole Madonnasection to promote the GHV2. 04 November - Giggling Jacko not for Maddy
Madonna has had her share of men, but she couldn't bag Michael Jackson. According to Andrew Morton's new biography, "Madonna," the Material Mom "told one of her lovers" that she had tried to seduce Jackson but "failed to arouse his interest." According to the lover, Madonna and Jackson were on the couch at his place when she put the moves on him. When they touched, he would start giggling like a little boy. Nothing further happened. Madonna has taken Harry Potter author JK Rowling's crown as the country's highest-earning woman. The Material Girl has qualified for the Sunday Times Pay List for the first time since marrying Guy Ritchie because the UK has become her main residence. In the past year she earned £30 million, compared with JK Rowling's £24.8 million and the Queen's £15.2 million income from the Civil List and Privy Purse. (source: Ananova)

04 November - Mo's childhood home still unsold
An internet auction of Madonna's childhood home has been scrapped after it failed to attract enough bidders. The house will now be sold by more conventional means. 01 November - £1 million on GHV2 promotion
Madonna's record company Warners are spending £1m on promoting the star's new Greatest Hits album. The 15 track sequel to 1990's 3.5m selling The Immaculate Collection is released on 12 November and the star will not be doing any promotion or interviews to back up the album as she is currently in Europe filming a movie directed by her husband, Guy Ritchie. Warners plans a cryptic promotion campaign initially, merely referring to the album as GHV2. 'We want to create some intrigue initially,' a Warners marketing manager said. 'We want the unusual name to get people thinking about the association between Madonna and GHV2. Only later will it become obvious as Greatest Hits Volume 2.' The album will be advertised on TV as from next week. GHV2 spans the singer's chart success since 1991 and features hits including Don't Cry For Me Argentina, Ray Of Light and Beautiful Stranger but there are no new tracks. A DVD and VHS of Madonna's recent Drowned World tour will also be released on 12 November. (source: Worldpop)

~ This is already the third different release date so far. Though the 13th was originally set, it's likely the album and the video will be released on the 9th, possibly depending on the territory.
